Child, Adolescent and Adult Therapy

Hello, I am Melissa Snyder.  I am a seasoned therapist that has over 15 years of experience in treating people with anxiety, depression, addiction and trauma. I have many years of experience working with the LGBQT + population.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and TF-CBT. Both are research based interventions involving neural integration. I also use Sand Tray Therapy and am a Certified Sand Tray Therapist. I provide a safe space to explore one self, the good and the bad, the simple and the complicated. Whether you are experiencing generalized anxiety, performance anxiety or more severe addiction, trauma and/or depression these types of therapy can be beneficial for your recovery and healing.

Trauma and grief occurs on all levels, anywhere from everyday stress to memories from past events that can have an impact on our emotions, as well as our bodies.  The nervous system is sometimes “injured” when we experience overwhelming feelings, particularly when we feel trapped or perceive our life has been threatened.

Sessions consist of working through emotions, issues, relationships and thoughts using both EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing ) so that you may utilize both your left brain (facts, words) and right brain(pictures, images). This will allow you to get better faster.

Some of these trauma events might include:
